At the request of PEP, the RCMP or other authorized tasking agency, NSAR respond to provide assistance with Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) operations. NSAR are strong supporters of \u201cmutual aid\u201d and frequently assist, or request assistance from, other Search and Rescue groups within the wider region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">The organization is comprised of volunteers who dedicate significant time to build the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as effective SAR members. Team Members are trained for basic ground search and rescue, first aid, rope rescue, swiftwater rescue, organized avalanche response, team leaders, search and rescue management, and more. The education and training of Members provides the skilled personnel needed for rescue operations and is a key focus of the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Training is the first and third Wednesday of each month. The NSAR Board of Directors meet on the last Wednesday of each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>In Memory of Sheilah<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Donations \u2013&nbsp;A fund has been established in Sheilah\u2019s memory by the Sweatman family with Fort Whyte Alive: The Sheilah Sweatman Memorial Fund in support of (or for) wildlife habitat, outdoor recreation and environmental education.
