SAREX 2023

Hello all,

The SAREX 2023 event will kick off with registration on Friday afternoon at Kokanee Creek Provincial Campsite, where we’ll sign everyone in using task sheets. We have booked the group camping site which has ample space to accommodate tents and RVs of all sizes. Please be prepared to share camping areas as the site isn’t massive.  There will not be any group meals on Friday, but there will be a meet and greet in the common area for those able to be on site Friday evening.

Breakfast and dinners will be catered. Pre-made sandwiches and other lunch items will be prepared and available for self-service during lunchtime. Please see schedule for mealtimes.

The entire event is within walking distance from the group camping area. Maps and signage will be provided to get to different event areas. Additionally, designated spaces will be available for the public and families to observe the more technical workshops.

Those attending technical training workshops need to bring their own PPE and have the necessary certifications. Team Leaders will supervise all training activities. If you are wanting to take part in Hover Exit training, please specify using the form below. This training is open to GSAR and MIT members only.

You’re welcome to bring family or friends to the event. If they wish to camp and join the festivities, please specify the number of people in your group when you register. Registration for meals, shirts and hover Exit closed on the 25th of Aug. Make sure to register only if you’re certain you can attend, as the costs for food services and merchandise depend on the number of registered participants.

A SAR game is scheduled for Sunday. It’s designed for GSAR participants, with teams formed however you prefer.. This should be a fun event to partake in and watch!

SAREX is under a special training event task number. All workshops will be run by qualified SAR folk and all SOGs and standards will be followed. Please bring proper PPE for all workshops you plan to partake in.

Don’t forget to bring your own beverages (BYOB) and a lawn chair, and be ready for the weather. With a wonderful group of people attending, it’ll be a fantastic opportunity to network and make new friends.

See you there!
